Important Diversity

As human beings, it is always important to consider how our actions and words can affect the future and make a difference in the world. This has been especially true when the world is facing serious social, economic and environmental challenges, and it’s critical to think about how we can contribute to positive change. By contrast, most corporate environments fail to recognize or respect the importance of diversity, despite the fact that it contributes positively to the future. The following article will describe what some of the most compelling examples of diversity are, so you can understand the importance of diversity in your organization.

Not surprisingly, most workplaces still reflect the sociocultural behaviors present in social networks outside work. Indeed, as a manager who has managed and scaled a large multinational business over the past two years, I have learned that diversity within the workplace can be an asset, particularly in its ability to foster collaboration, creativity and understanding in ways that are similar to homogenous spaces… Consider for a moment that when the majority of employees in a company to work in close proximity to each other, it’s easy to become defensive and intolerant of others’ differences. However, a diverse workplace fosters an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and responsibility, regardless of their backgrounds. In a multicultural workforce, leaders are not afraid to admit their own shortcomings and learn from others. A diverse work environment fosters open communication and promotes a culture of self-reflection and improvement. In fact, I believe that it may even provide a model that you can use for creating your own workplace that reflects these characteristics.

One of the most significant examples of diversity in action is human rights violations. For example, ethnic cleansing is becoming increasingly common in many countries of the world. It is difficult to distinguish between ethnic cleansing and the actions of human rights abusers, because often the same acts are carried out using different means. This is why the Human Rights Tribunal of India has been instrumental in helping to develop the definition of ethnic cleansing, because they recognized that while it is important to combat ethnic cleansing in all parts of the world, it is most important to prevent it in places where violence has been the result. Another example is conflict tourism: While it may seem obvious that a resort city like Phuket has a thriving tourist industry, it is also one of the top destinations in Thailand for conflict diamonds. In fact, a third of Thailand’s export revenue comes from conflict diamonds. Therefore, a diversified tourism company is one of the most effective methods of supporting a sustainable future.
