Operativeness Excellence
Operational Excellence can mean many things to a manager. It is a method of achieving excellence in every aspect of an organization. There are three aspects that are involved. The first is that there must be a defined way of measuring and tracking progress, the second is that there must be a system of checks and balances to monitor the performance of employees and supervisors, and finally there must be a method by which to measure the success or failure of an activity or project. The first element is easy to define as it is a measurable standard for measuring what is working and what isn’t. The second element is easier to measure as it has a number of methods for measuring.
The third aspect is the one that is the hardest to measure but is also the most important because it is what represents the overall success or failure of the organizational goal. Successful Operational Excellence involves the process of consistently executing the organization’s strategy and program more accurately and reliably than anyone else. This is measured by consistent results achieved. It also entails consistent results when the results are applied to other organizations. It is the result of consistent results that demonstrate the company has the ability to achieve the desired goals in a timely fashion.
Operativeness Excellence can be measured in any number of ways, including performance management, cost control, quality management and business strategies. The importance of using the best techniques for monitoring and controlling the quality of services and products offered by a business cannot be overstated. If a business is to reach its financial goals, it must be able to meet them and continually improve the productivity and efficiency of its business.
